Daniela Fiľakovská Bobáková, PhD. (1984) received her Master degree in Social work (St. Elisabeth University of Health and Social Sciences) and PhD. in Medical sciences (University of Groningen, The Netherlands). She worked in the state service as an Independent Consultant for the Social and Family Bureau, Social Division, at the Department of Social and Legal Child Protection where she became experienced in working with the Roma community. During her doctoral studies, as well as in her ongoing work at the university, she is focused on research in health psychology and public health with particular focus on the social and psycho-social determinants of adolescents’ health and health-related behaviour, in particular on the role of subculture affiliation, but also on the health of the Roma population. She is currently working at the Department of Psychology Department of Health Public Health Medical School UPJŠ as senior scientific researcher. She participated and still participates in several projects of national research agencies (APPV), the institutional research projects (HepaMeta) and European projects (SOPHIE, International Visegrad Fund). Since 2009 she has been participating in the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study, a multinational project conducted in collaboration with the World Health Organization. She is a member of the HBSC national team and member of HBSC Peer culture focus group.
