DIPEx International is an association of expert researchers conducting qualitative research into people’s personal experiences of health and illness. Our mission is to improve understanding of personal health experiences for the benefit of our communities, researchers and the health sector, including healthcare professionals and policy makers.

Our colleagues Andrej Belák and Daniela Fiľakovská attended The final conference of the National project Healthy communities 2A. Andrej Belak presented preliminary results from the health needs assessment in the marginalised Roma communities. Daniela Filakovska joined moderated discussion about Roma health mediators in hospitals. In these two areas, our colleagues have been closely cooperating with Healthy Regions for the last couple of years.

From 6th to 8th November, 2019 in the beautiful Yerevan (Armenia) was held HBSC conference, which was attended by members of Slovak HBSC team – Andrea Madarasova Geckova, Jaroslava Kopcakova, Viktoryia Karchynskaya.

From 6th to 8th November, 2019 in the beautiful Yerevan (Armenia) was held HBSC conference, which was attended by members of Slovak HBSC team – Andrea Madarasova Geckova, Jaroslava Kopcakova, Viktoryia Karchynskaya. The conference provided an opportunity for participants from 44 countries to get to know each other better, share knowledge, ideas and inspiration.

Also this conference organized meetings of research focus groups where participants could discuss the general work strategy, the action plan and the details to be supplemented or modified in the HBSC research. These were very busy three days, which will serve as a good start for numerous joint projects between participants in such an extensive scientific network!

HBSC team was invited to participate on the preparation of new Strategy of Slovak Republic for Youth (2021-2028)

On the November 8th we participated on round-table activity focused on the preparation of new Strategy of Slovak Republic for Youth (2021-2028). We had the possibility to meet with youth and workers from youth organizations, with whom we worked in groups and discussed ideas that might contribute to different domains of Strategy.

Care4Youth and HBSC team was invited to give a lecture at the Child in Danger conference organized by the Research Institute of Child Psychology and Pathopsychology

What role does family, school, and community play in alleviating emotional and behavioral problems? What are the experiences of school-aged children in the online world?

We talked about this on 7th and 8th of November in Bratislava at the conference Child in Danger, organized by the Research Institute of Child Psychology and Pathopsychology.

We were excited to invite dr. Danielle Jansen from University of Groningen for our internal workshop of our Care4Youth team at the Hands on Science Center, which took place in MediPark UPJŠ, focusing on the functioning of the care system for children with emotional and behavioral problems from the perspective of providers of this care

On Tuesday, October 29, 2019, an internal workshop of our Care4Youth team was held at Hands on Science Center, MediPark, Czech Republic, on the functioning of a childcare system with emotional and behavioral problems from the perspective of providers of this care.

In order to best discuss the most significant topics that have arisen from the recent qualitative part of this project and to agree on further workflows, we have invited dr. Danielle Jansen from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands to explore the care system children in the EU and possibilites of our future cooperation.

We received representatives from the Children’s Organization FÉNIX at the Institute of Health Psychology and Research Methodology to discuss future collaboration

On October 24 we received representatives from the Children’s Organization FÉNIX, o.z. – Chairwoman Eva Pintérová and Vice-President Patrik Hermanat the Institute of Health Psychology and Research Methodology.

The main objective of the meeting was to implicate the results of the HBSC study in Slovakia in active youth work as we also tried to provide answers to the current challenges of today’s generation (GenZ). Based on the previous effective and active collaboration of the Children’s Organization FÉNIX, a memorandum on cooperation between these institutions was signed also for the upcoming period in the area of preparation and implementation of the HBSC 2021/2022 study in Slovakia.

Researchers with different backgrounds and from different countries met and tried to shift their research interests into new and unexplored lands in order to understand Generation Z better.
