More than 25 years of cooperation behind us and more to come! New bilateral agreement between Pavol Jozef Safarik University and University of Groningen for Youth and Health research was signed.

Representatives of both universities, prof. Sijmen Reijneveld, assoc. prof. Jitse van Dijk and assoc. prof. Andrea de Winter from University of Groningen and prof. Silvia Rucinska, prof. Pavol Jarcuska, prof. Andrea Madarasova Geckova and assoc. prof. Zuzana Dankulincova from Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice met on 6th of February over new signed bilateral agreement for Youth and Health research and continued with discussions for future collaboration between our universities.

Our team was excited to host our long-lasting mentors prof. Sijmen Reijneveld and assoc. prof. Jitse van Dijk along with a new addition to this collaboration, assoc. prof. Andrea de Winter from University of Groningen

Our colleagues from University in Groningen, prof. Sijmen Reijneveld, assoc. prof. Jitse van Dijk and assoc. prof. Andrea de Winter  visited our department on 4-6 February, 2020 to discuss issues related to our long lasting cooperation, ongoing PhD studies and plans for future possibilities and innovative approaches in our runnning projects and collaborations.

Presentation of HBSC study on Youth Conference within 6 cities of Kosice region

Already 6th year of the Košice Region Youth Council organized a unique series of conferences in the Košice Region (in Rožňava, Michalovce, Sobrance, Spišská Nová Ves, Trebišov and Košice) under the municipalities of the Košice Region – full of inspiration and in cooperation with local authorities or local organizations active in the field of youth. The aim of conferences were to improve the quality of youth work at the level of municipalities.

Meeting with representatives of Kosice self-governing region was organized in December 2019 with aim to stimulate implementation of recent findings from HBSC survey in preparation of strategic documents aiming to promote health and active life style of population.

“How to improve the system of care for adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems?” Care4Youth team met again with care providers to optimize the care system.

“How to improve the system of care for adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems?” On December 10, Care4Youth team met again with care providers at the Hands on Science premises of the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ in Košice and discussed solutions in a workshop focused on a concrete form of implementation to optimize the care system.

Slovak HBSC team awarded as the Fenix Volunteer of the Year (FeDoR)

Representatives of the Slovak HBSC study received a significant  award at the Marlene Hotel in Oščadnica on Saturday, November 30, 2019 in the category “feather help” – for cooperation on the project “Health is not a cliché”, which makes the National Report (available in Slovak language at https: // hbscslovakia. files.wordpress.com/2019/06/nar-sprava-zdravie-11_lq.pdf) enriched with children’s statements and the voice of young people.

“Feather help” is awarded to teams that have made a significant contribution to the development of the FÉNIX Children’s Organization and are not members of the FÉNIX Children’s Organization. The award is given by the Slovak Council of FÉNIX.

The event was attended by volunteers and supporters of the children’s organization FÉNIX. The event was accompanied by Deputy Chairman Patrik Herman and with the participation of Mr. Ivan Hromada, Director of Youth Department at Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.
