Zuzana Boberová

Zuzana Boberová, PhD. (1986) received her Master degree in Pedagogy (Faculty of Science, P.J. Šafárik University in Košice); with a specialization in biology and mathematics. During her university studies she was interested in health education and health promotion activities within school education and surrounding. She completed extraordinary courses (Social-psychological training; Drug prevention for university students) accredited by Ministry of Education.  She received PhD in Pedagogy (University of Prešov in Prešov, Slovakia). Her PhD thesis was focused on health literacy as an outcome of school-based health education using action oriented teaching. During her doctoral studies she completed study-research stay at Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, University of Jyväskylä in Finland supported by CIMO – Finnish government scholarship. At present time she is university lecturer at Department of Education, P.J. Šafárik University in Košice. Her research interest is in a school-based health education with particular focus on health literacy concept as an outcome of school-based health education, the ways of developing and measuring. Her research interest is also oriented on action competence and action oriented teaching and its position within health literacy concept.  Within this field she serves as an ad hoc consultant for Ministry of Education SR.
