Our team took part in the conference “Children and Their Place in the Sun” organized in Košice by non-profit organization “Miesto pod Slnkom” as a part of activities within Care4Youth project

Our colleagues, Daniela Fiľakovská Bobáková, Miriama Lacková Rebičová and Michaela Pálfiová, on September 14, 2017 in Košice, took part in the day-long conference “Children and Their Place under the Sun” in order to establish contacts with care providers for children with emotional and behavioral problems within the Care4Youth project. Organized by the non-profit organization “Miesto pod Slnkom”, which is working with us on the Care4Youth project.

Our colleagues Zuzana Boberová (Faculty of Science, UPJŠ in Košice) and Jaroslava Kopčáková became in June 2017 members of work group “Health and active living” under the project of the Youth Department of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with IUVENTA. Moreover this work group has launched preparations for the third comprehensive document on the life of young people.

The Youth Department of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with IUVENTA has launched preparations for the third comprehensive document on the life of young people.

The Youth Department of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with IUVENTA – the Slovak Youth Institute has launched preparations for the third comprehensive document on the life of young people. Its aim is to map their current conditions and to ensure continuity in the area of setting government policy objectives of children and youth. A strategic document monitors the different aspects of young people’s lives in the Slovak Republic and informs about current challenges in specific policy areas in relation to youth.

Our colleagues attended Gypsy Lore Society Annual Conference in Cyprus

From 30 August till 1 September 2017, our colleagues Daniela Bobáková Fiľakovská, Andrej Belák and Jitse van Dijk met with other prominent researchers in the field of gypsy/romani studies on the Gypsy Lore Society Annual Conference in Cyprus. They were invited to share their knowledge via three oral presentations as a part of the panel “Engaging with Romani health across disciplinary boundaries” co-organized by Andrej Belák .

31st conference of the EHPS: Innovative ideas in Health Psychology attended by our colleagues

From 29 August till 2 September 2017, our colleagues Jana Holubčíková, Daniela Husárová, Miriama Lacková Rebičová, Jaroslava Kopčáková and Peter Kolarčik met with other prominent researchers in the field of health psychology on the 31st annual conference of European Health Psychology Society. They were invited to share their knowledge via one oral and six poster presentations.

Cyberpsychology: The Journal of Psychosocial Research on Cyberspace announces a call for a special issue “Health and technology” to be published in April 2018.

The special issue invites papers that extend our understanding of the role of technology in the health and behaviour change of children, adolescents and adults. Topics suitable for this special issue could include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • The impact of technology use on overall health, lifestyle and well-being across the lifespan
  • The positive and negative aspects of social media on children, adolescents and adults
  • Influence of engagement with technology on behaviour change
  • E-literacy, mHealth, tracking technologies and health behaviour
  • Cyberspace as a place for health
  • Technologies, connectivity and health

Also, other topics not specifically mentioned are welcome, on the condition that they fit within the scope of the special issue.

Please specify your affiliations in a biographical note (up to 75 words). Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by the 20 September 2017 and will then be invited to submit a full paper.

The ideal manuscript length is between 7,000 and 8,000 words. Authors should adhere to the guidelines provided on the journal’s website. Authors should have their papers edited and proofread before submitting. The deadline for submission of full papers is the 20 December 2017. All papers will be subject to anonymous peer review following submission. Acceptance of the abstract does not guarantee the acceptance of the full paper for publication.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL
The Cyberpsychology: Journal of Psychosocial Research on Cyberspace is a web-based, peer-reviewed scholarly journal. The first peer-reviewed issue was published in September 2007. The journal is focused on social science research about cyberspace. It brings psychosocial reflections of the impact of the Internet on people and society. The journal is interdisciplinary, publishing works written by scholars of psychology, media studies, communication science, sociology, political science, nursing, ICT security, organizational psychology and also other disciplines with relevance to psychosocial aspects of cyberspace. The journal accepts original research articles, as well as theoretical studies and research meta-analyses. Proposals for special issues are also welcomed.

Our IMPACCT project proposal for Erasmus+ approved!!!

Our team, lead by Peter Kolarcik, were as a partner in the consortium successful with the proposal for Erasmus+ via IMPACCT project.

The overall aim of IMPACCT is to improve the relevance and quality of education of medical and nursing students in Europe through the development, implementation, evaluation and dissemination of an evidence-based and applicable health literacy Education Program (HL-EP) which will enhance the development of required European-wide health literacy competencies.
