Our team has taken the first steps towards a qualitative analysis of interviews that we have done over the past few months with a number of great people in institutions that address children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems as a part of workshop with prof. Ivo Cermak.

We look forward to everything that is waiting for us this year and especially to all the results we are going to have at the end of the year!

Andrej Belak and Daniela Filakovska attended coordination meeting of Roma health coordinators working in mediation program Healthy communities in order to train coordinators for data collection in Marginalized Roma communities where this intervention program operates with aim to create preliminary profiles of marginalized Roma communities in terms of social determinants of health

Andrej Belak and Daniela Filakovska attended coordination meeting of Roma health coordinators working in mediation program Healthy communities in order to train coordinators for data collection in Marginalized Roma communities where this intervention program operates with aim  to create preliminary profiles of marginalized Roma communities in terms of social determinants of health.

These data will be used to create preliminary profiles of marginalized Roma communities in terms of social determinants of health and will help to set up targeted interventions in these communities.

Andrej Belak and Daniela Filakovska in cooperation with Tatiana Grauzelova (Office of the Plenipotentiary of the Government of the Slovak Republic for Roma Communities) organised in Kosice focus group with colleagues from Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic at University Hospital of L. Pasteur in Kosice

Andrej Belak and Daniela Filakovska  in cooperation with Tatiana Grauzelova (Office of the Plenipotentiary of the Government of the Slovak Republic for Roma Communities)  organised in Kosice focus group with  colleagues from Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic at University Hospital of L. Pasteur in Kosice.

They discussed the topic of education of health professionals how content of this education prepares them for everyday practice and help them to overcome struggles with providing high quality health care for patients from marginalized Roma communities.

Data on cardiorespiratory fitness and body composition of school-aged children are analysed by Slovak national HBSC FITNESS team from Kosice, Nitra, Banska Bystrica in collaboration with our colleagues from Institute of Active Living, Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacky University in Olomouc

Data on cardiorespiratory fitness and body composition of school-aged children are currently being analysed by Slovak national HBSC FITNESS team from Kosice, Nitra, Banska Bystrica in collaboration with our colleagues from Institute of Active Living, Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacky University in Olomouc.

We wonder how well are our hearts of children trained and what we can learn from their body composition in relation to other indicators of their health, health related behaviour or social context.

They will present “Collaborative health needs assessment in Marginalized Roma communities – applied research for National project Healthy communities” and use this opportunity to share and discuss their current research with wider audience of academics and other stakeholders involved in the issues concerning Roma minority.
