Peter Kolarcik attended the 4th European Health Literacy Conference, where he met with partners from the WHO NHLDP network and the IMPACCT project. He also led a symposium together with them and presented his own poster on “Health Literacy among Dialogue Patients in Slovakia: Preliminary Results from Continuing Study”.

Our colleagues, Daniela Filakovska and Lucia Bosakova and our PhD students Jaroslava Mackova and Laura Urbanova attended the conference “XI. days of Public Health in Martin” organized by Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin, Comenius University in Bratislava.
The results of our ongoing projects and collaboration on Healthy regions, EURO-HEALTHY and Health behaviour in School-aged Children were presented.
Our colleagues Andrej Belak and Daniela Filakovska were invited for F2F meeting organised by The Association for Culture, Education and Communication (ACEC) within the project Together for better health – an international innovative project whose main objective is to improve the health status of marginalized Roma communities
Our colleagues Andrej Belak and Daniela Filakovska were invited for F2F meeting organised by The Association for Culture, Education and Communication (ACEC) within the project Together for better health – an international innovative project whose main objective is to improve the health status of marginalized Roma communities.
The project involves partners from Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia with active support from GSK. Andrej Belak was asked to give a speech on Scientific evidence regarding health mediation in Slovakia. Experts involved in mediation programs in partner countries have had the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss further cooperations.

Three days full of presentations and discussion. Our team at the Department of Health Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, PJ Šafárik university hosted assoc. prof. Gabriel Gulis from University of Southern Denmark in Kosice.
We started 4th of March with invited lectures by assoc. prof. Gabriel Gulis on the topic “Preparation, evaluation and management of research projects“ for PhD students and continued with “Global burden of disease” for medical students.
On 5th of March whole day was spent on strategic planning and discussion about possibilities in future with our School-aged children, Vulnerable children, Specific patients groups and Marginalised Roma research groups.
Fully packed three-day program finished on 6th of March with presentation on possibilities of Erasmus study stays at the University of Southern Denmark.

Zuzana Dankulincová and Daniela Fiľakovská participated as part of the program on February 28 at the III. special-pedagogical conference in Partizanske and talked about the Care4Youth study. The preliminary results of the project were presented with the contribution “Child Care System with emotional and behavioral problems: Suggestions for consensual improvements from the viewpoint of care providers” and they also participated in the “Moderated Discussion on Inclusion in Slovak Education”.

Dr. Jaroslava Kopcakova attended meeting of Children organisation Fénix (working under Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and IUVENTA-Slovak Institue of Youth) within implementation of Health Behaviour of School-aged Children study. This activity is part of project “Health is not cliche”, particularly implemenatation of Voice of children into National report of last Health Behaviour of School-aged Children study data collection.

Dr. Peter Kolarcik was invited to official announcement of WHO Collaborating Centre Working with Vulnerable Population Groups in Central Europe in National Institute for TB, Lung Diseases and Thoracic Surgery in Vyšné Hágy on 21st of February 2019.
Second purpose of the meeting was to meet with Dr. Tatul Hakobian, the head of Slovak WHO office and Elena Jablonicka from Ministry of Health to establish collaboration and institutional partnership in our health literacy project run under the WHO National Health Literacy Demonstration Project scheme.
