Mgr. Viktoryia Karchynskaya (1988) received her first Master degree in Psychology (Faculty of Psychology, Brest State University named after Pushkin in Brest, Belarus). During her university studies she was interested in the relationship between the social value system and the retention of advertising messages from the youth audience. After graduation she had worked as a school psychologist for 4 years in Belarus. During her work in school she took part in some projects, which focused on the work with youth: “Youth in action – 4” (Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps), Learning Mobility Project «Coaching You(th)» Erasmus+ (YMCA Romania), «Peer to peer education in school» (YMCA Belarus), “Education in the field of reproductive and sexual health, and the development of interpersonal relations between pupils and their parents” (UNESCO and UNAIDS). She received her second Master degree in Psychology in Slovakia (Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, Trnava University in Trnava). During her university studies she was interested in psychological features of adolescent’s creative thinking with a humanitarian and technical education profile.
At present time, she is PhD student at the University of Groningen and in the position of the researcher at the Department of Health Psychology, Medical Faculty of P.J. Safarik University. During her doctoral studies she is focused on research in health psychology and public health with particular focus on physical activity in the context of psychosocial determinants especially in adolescents. In addition, she is a member of Health Behaviour of School-aged Children study (HBSC).
