Mária Sarková, PhD. (1978) finished study of Slovak language and literature and Pedagogy at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prešov. Since 2002 to 2011 worked as a researcher at the Faculty of Arts of the P.J. Šafárik University in Košice. She defended her PhD. at the University of Groningen in the medical sciences in 2010. Her research activities are focused on research of mental health and health risk behaviours among school-aged children. Since 2012 she works at the Department of Recreology at the Faculty of Physical Culture Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
