Mgr. Jana Holubčíková, PhD. (1985) graduated at the Comenius University in Bratislava and received her master degree in psychology in 2011. In 2016 she received her PhD degree in medical sciences at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. During her study she was working in the non-profit sector with focus on children and adolescents living mainly in risky and socially disadvantaged environment. She participated in creation and implementation of various projects oriented on prevention, education and supporting healthy development of young people. After these experiences she decided to move into science and become researcher at the Department of Health psychology and by this way improve resources for psychosocial care. As a researcher at the Department of Health Psychology, she participated in several projects (Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children study, Care4Youth study). Since October 2012 she is a member of the HBSC Slovak national team, member of HBSC Violence and Injury Prevention and Eating & Dieting Focus Group. In 2016, she became a member of the editorial board of International Journal of Public Health as Associate Editor. During her postdoctoral research, she became the cooperation with Institute for Research of Children, Youth and Family, Masaryk University in Brno on the project dealing with the impact of digital technology on health of adolescents. Her research is focused on research in health psychology and public health with particular focus on body image, eating habits and online behaviour of adolescents. At present time, she is working at the Department of Health Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, PJ Safarik University in Kosice as a senior researcher.
